Lauryn Hill surprised fans Saturday night when she reunited with the Fugees in Philly at the Root’s Picnic.
Headliner Miss Lauryn Hill brought out band mates Wyclef Jean and Pras to run through some of their hit songs like “Zealots,” “Ready or Not” and “Killing Me Softly With His Song,” backed by The Roots. They closed out the set with a spirited performance of “Fu-Gee-La.”
The group has only played together a handful of times since they split in 1997. They were planning to do a big tour to celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Score starting last fall, but it wound up getting canceled.
