Nobody is safe from Eminem's wrath on his new song — not even himself.
The seasoned MC pulled out plenty of tricks for his latest single "Houdini" on Friday, May 31. On the record produced by himself and Luis Resto, Eminem kicks off the song with a familiar intro from his 2002 hit "Without Me" and reassures fans he'll never quit rapping. After he pokes fun at his old self, Em shoots his shot at asking Megan Thee Stallion for a feature while referencing the shooting involving Tory Lanez.
"If I was to ask for Megan Thee Stallion if she would collab with me, Would I really have a shot at a feat?" he raps.
In the official music video, Eminem makes plenty of references to the lead single off his fourth album The Eminem Show. He dusts off his old "Rapboy" suit and reunites with Dr. Dre for another joy ride as they cruises through the streets in search of Slim Shady, who time-travels from 2002 through a portal. He runs into to plenty of familiar faces along the way like 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, The Alchemist, Royce Da 5'9", Denaun Porter and more. Eventually, Em battles his former self and continues to diss everyone in his inner circle like Dre, Jimmy Iovine and even his own daughters.
"Houdini" is the first single from Eminem's forthcoming album The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce), which is set to arrive this summer. It arrives on the same day as other major singles like GloRilla, Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B's "Wanna Be Remix" and Roddy Ricch's new song "Survivor's Remorse." In addition, artists like Belly, Dave East, the late Mo3 and others all dropped new albums.
