Legendary comedian Dave Chappelle has successfully gotten his old comedy sketch show Chappelle’s Show removed from Netflix. Dave requested this be done after the original rights holder, ViacomCBS, began licensing it without his permission. Netflix originally made the show available on November 1st, and it’s no longer discoverable on the platform as of Tuesday (November 24) afternoon. Netflix declined to comment. Full story here!
Since it’s removal, Chappelle has posted an 18-minute clip of unreleased standup, titled “Unforgiven,” to his Instagram account earlier today.
Chappelle addresses his request to Netflix, sharing, “I called them and I told them that this makes me feel bad. And you want to know what they did? They agreed that they would take it off their platform just so I could feel better.” He also called the decision to stream Chappelle’s Show “fencing stolen goods.” Check out the fill clip below!
