Clovis Unified Cancel Buchanan High Play Because of Gay Main Character

Over 2,000 people have signed a petition asking to reinstate the production of a play put on by Buchanan High after it was cancelled by Clovis Unified just hours before their second showing.

Their production of "No Exit" is a play written by Nobel Prize winner Jean-Paul Sartre and features a lesbian main character.

The Change.org petition says that the reason for the cancellation was along the lines of "there's a lesbian character and some parents may have to explain to their child that some women love other women. That our audience doesn't approve of homosexuality, and we should be playing to our audience."
