Over 8,000 people are without power after a fiery crash took down a high voltage transmission line at Marks and Emerson. Police say at 1:00 a.m. this morning a woman driving an SUV crashed into the transmission line. Police believe she was thrown from the SUV upon impact and died on the scene.
Fresno Police blocked off north Emerson on the west side of Marks and say pedestrian traffic will be limited.
Officials say they will have to rebuild the tower which could take some time, but they say power is expected to be restored by 8:00 p.m.
