A 22-year-old whose family claims she is being held by R. Kelly says she’s happy and doing fine. But the video that Jocelyn Savage filmed to quell doubts raises further suspicion.
In a short clip posted to TMZ, she says that she’s where she wants to be — though she refuses to get specific about her location, or even what state she’s living in. She denied that she’s been kidnapped, brainwashed or anything else. She says she still gets texts from her parents but says she had to cut off communication with them because they took things too far with their false accusations.
Savage’s parents, who held a press conference in front of the home where they believe she’s being held, say they think their daughter has Stockholm Syndrome. Tim Savageresponded to legal threats from Kelly’s camp, telling them to bring it on.
R. Kelly is denying allegations that he is holding six women against their will as part of an apparent sex cult.
A Buzzfeed report alleged that the 50-year-old singer has brainwashed six women and is controlling every aspect of their lives, from what they eat to how they engage in sexual encounters. In response, Kelly's lawyer said, "Mr. Robert Kelly is both alarmed and disturbed by the recent revelations attributed to him. Mr. Kelly unequivocally denies such accusations and will work diligently and forcibly to pursue his accusers and clear his name."
The statement continues, "We can only wonder why folks would persist in defaming a great artist who loves his fans, works 24/7, and takes care of all of the people in his life. He works hard to become the best person and artist he can be." (Rolling Stone)
