Jim Carrey has made a living off his silly behavior, but his appearance on a red carpet Friday night can best be described as bizarre and even a bit worrisome.
The funnyman showed up at the Harper's Bazaar's ICONS event in New York and gave one of the strangest red carpet interviews ever. He circled E! News reporter Catt Sadler a few times and then gave some very odd responses to her questions. First he called the event "meaningless" and said "I wanted to find the most meaningless thing that I could come to and join, and here I am." Then he went on a long rant about icons and said, "I don't believe in icons. I don't believe in personalities. I believe that peace lies beyond personality, beyond invention in disguise, beyond the red S that you wear on your chest that makes bullets bounce off. I believe that it's deeper than that. I believe we're a field of energy dancing for itself. And, uh, I don't care."
Carrey then added, "Here's the thing, it's not our world. That's the key. We don't matter. That's the good news."
