Cardi B Lands First Lead Role In A Movie

Lookout, Cardi B moves toward earning an EGOT: Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony Award.

She’s been cast in her first leading role in a heist comedy. The movie is called Assisted Living. When a robbery goes wrong, Cardi, who will be playing the role of Amber, disguises herself as an elderly woman. Then hides from law enforcement inside her grandmother’s nursing home.

Following Thursday’s announcement, Cardi tweeted how her world will soon change, (quote) “Work & life is about to become 10x harder but I’m overwhelmed with happiness. When you have opportunities in your hands, TAKE THEM ALL!”

We’ve seen this type of comedy before: Whoopi Goldberg inSister Act. Robin Williams in Mrs. Doubtfire. Dustin Hoffman in Tootsie.

Cardi enjoyed a small role in the Jennifer Lopez flick,Hustlers. She also has a part in the Fast & Furious ninth installment F9. There’s no telling when that action movie will be released. It’s been delayed a few times because of the pandemic. (Variety)
