Rihanna skipped this year's Met Gala due to her pregnancy, but organizers made sure she showed up anyway -- in the form of a statue.
Curators at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art and editors at Vogue teamed up to create a replica of RiRi that was placed on the museum steps. The statue was modeled after Eirene (The Personification of Peace), a work that stands in the museum's Greek wing. But in a modern twist, the Rihanna version is wearing the same body-hugging outfit the singer sports on her recent Vogue cover.
RiRi showed her appreciation by tweeting “Shut down the met in marble! what’s more gilded than that? Lol! Thank you @metmuseum and @voguemagazine for this historic tribute! y’all bad for this one!”
