A woman is out of a job after confronting a 74-year-old man in Palo Alto for wearing a 'Make America Great Again' hat. Parker Mankey spotted the man sitting inside of Starbucks and began loudly berating him, calling him a racist and threatening to find his home and protest. The woman then posted about her experience and posted the mans face on her Facebook page before returning to berate the man once gain.
When the woman's employer found out about her behavior, they decided to fire her.
I think the lesson learned here is to communicate more effectively. While many people may not agree with what he is wearing and what it represents, I think she would still have a job if she spoke with him calmly about it. She may have even changed his mind.
