Despite suffering brain damage from an assault in June 2020, Wanda Palmer awoke after being in a coma for two years and said her brother was her assailant. Officials believe the suspect, Daniel Palmer, allegedly attacked with a machete or a hatchet.
It's amazing not only that she regained consciousness after SO long, but also that her memory of who attacked her was intact, and that she was able to communicate the information to law enforcement. But what a horrific thing for her to go through, and tragic that she'll never fully recover. And at the hands of her own brother. Heartbreaking.
