A father and daughter in Oakland were killed when their home after it was their Oakland hills home was firebombed with the family in the home. 37-year-old Hassam Nagi and his 1-year-old daughter Alia were killed in the fire. Firefighters found their bodies together in an upstairs bedroom.
Abdul Alsama had returned home minutes prior to firefighters arriving to the scene and smelled gasoline everywhere and and found every exterior doorway to had been set on fire. As the fire raged Alsama still rushed in the home to try and save multiple family members whom were still in the home. Alsama was able to save his aunt, yet when he went to the back to try and save his cousin Hassam Nagi and Nagi's 1-year-old daughter, he the door was engulfed in flames and he could not gain entry.
Nagi's pregnant wife and her mother were rushed to the hospital with burns.
Oakland Fire Department arson Investigators' preliminary investigation stated the fire was intentionally set and they are continuing to investigate. Police are also investigating if this was an arson attack and double homicide is connected to another arson fire at a local store Nagi worked at as a cashier.

Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering rewards in cases where a death is involved. A reward of up to $40,000 may be offered for information leading to an arrest made in this case.
