How many times have you claimed your “not hungry” — and then proceed to eat half of your man's meal? GUILTY!
Social media users have dubbed it “date night food-theft” — and in Arkansas, there seems to finally be a solution.
A restaurant called Mama D’s, in North Little Rock, has been serving a menu item known as the “My Girlfriend is Not Hungry,” which adds “extra french fries to your entrée, and fried chicken wings (2) or fried cheese sticks (3).”
The restaurant has been cooking up the side dish for a while now, along with several other food joints across the country, but it only recently went viral.
A customer named Nick Chisler posted a picture of the Mama D’s menu online Friday after claiming to eat there. Users were quick to jump on the post, with many tagging their significant others.
“Whoever restaurant that is with the ‘my girlfriend is not hungry option’ is genius,” wrote a female Twitter user.
“Me picking at your food,” another said on Facebook, tagging her boyfriend.
Some people were not feeling the idea, however — blasting it as sexist and one-sided.
“More like my *boyfriend* isn’t hungry,” wrote one Facebook user.
“It works both ways,” another said.
Others were not on board simply because they didn’t want to share their food.
“Stay off my PLATE,” said one person, who also tagged their significant other.
“I’d order the ‘my girlfriend is not hungry’ for myself as an add on to my meal,” another said.
