Tupac might be remembered for embracing "Thug Life," but Mike D of The Beastie Boys says that lifestyle is ultimately what killed the rapper.

As Mike sees it, 'Pac would have been better off embracing his less gangsta side. He tells Vanity Fair, “Yeah, he was ‘Thug Life’ and everything, but he was more of an artistic kid. But basically, he was so determined to be authentic, it ultimately killed him, which is kind of a sad and tragic thing.”

Mike D also feels that the alleged East Coast - West Coast beef was really just an issue between Bad Boy and Death Row, and should have never spilled out into violence. “It still boggles my mind, because it escalated so fast."
